Recently, I have noticed that many a times people complain about how frustrated and bored they are with their lives. But, have no explanation to it. They have a great paying job as well as equally good friends to hang out with, live in a classy house and have a oh-so-classy car, have a partner who they care about and whom they want to be with most of the times, but they are still not happy.
Personally, I believe we have all been so spoilt with the luxuries
this century has to offer, that many people are just plain bored. Although this
is not the case for everyone, as many people hate their jobs, don’t have much
friends to hang out with, dislike where they live, and also their partner, but
if this is the case it would pretty much explain everything. But for those who
have the all the necessities in life and are still unhappy, they are not alone.
There are many more people who feel the same.
Often people fill up their lives with socializing; work, movies
and family, but rarely find something that they solely enjoy doing; that brings
about a purpose. Some people try and fill this hole with religion, music, partners,
movies, addictions, you name it. But it's not long before they end up being where
they started.
I have to admit, after pondering about it all, what comes to mind
is one word and that is - Gratification. Five years ago, I had no clue about
its significance but now I'm developing an understanding for it and it kind of
makes sense as we are forever, dominated by technology and money. Whenever there have been group discussions at dinner or
any get -together, it's never really about 'God' or anything religious, always
but about finding self love, self respect, and forgiveness within your-self and
for others.
Nowadays, people don't want to walk around holding a grudge or
enmity anymore, it's like a cancer, and hatred really eats you up inside. Forgiving
and forgetting about it gives you satisfaction more than antipathy ever could!
For people who really have a passion for something, they are
more than often able to achieve it when they get their heads down. After that
though, it's essential to take time out and literally "smell the flowers”
or none of it's worth the effort.
For me, it is finding the time at dusk to take a walk down
to the beach and very peacefully watch the sunset. Sometimes, I get so caught up
in the beauty of it, that everything else around me doesn't exist and then it
becomes all worth it, because for that one moment my Life is Perfect.
What about you? :)
wanting new challenge is in every persons subconscious. Lack of it makes life boring and u feel like u have nothing to do.
ReplyDeletethe the talks about GOD still happen everywhere, u want to meet them, leme know. :)
I mostly find peace in music, drinks and travelling and being with someone close. but still it feels like there is something missing. coz u dont get everything.
